My mother participated in an experiement as an African American teacher at Norfolk College in Norfolk, VA where she stayed with a white women in the wealthy parts of Conneticut in order to provide a more unique and diverse learning experience for their predominantly white and wealthy population.
It's no wonder that I've taken the narrative forward to address the adversities that our black and brown children go through in their learning experience and strive to provide more opportunities for the youth who may not have the opportunities or resources that their counterparts may have more access to.
